Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers

Dry chemical fire extinguishers are the most common in use today. They are capable of taking care of most fires as they are rated ABC.

Typical uses are offices, warehouse areas, woodworking areas, farms, general assembly areas, and homes.

Servicing information: A trained or certified person who has the manufacturer's service manual shall service the extinguisher not more than one year apart. It will include checks of location, obstructions, pressure gauge, weight and heft, and condition. At the time a new tag listing type, date, and service performed will be noted and initialed by the technician. Maintenance involving an internal examination will be required no more than 6 years apart and a hydro-test will be required within a 12 year period. Labels shall be attached recording activity for proof of servicing.
